Humber Music Hub
The Humber Music Hub is a partnership of schools, local authorities, community groups, music organisations, industry and more; coordinated by the Hub Lead Organisation (HLO), Hull Music Service. The Humber Music Hub will deliver and support high quality music education for children and young people within the Humber region.
Central to the success of the Hub is the partnership between the three strategic partners;
- East Riding Music Service
- Hull Music Service
- North Lincolnshire Music Service
Nationally, the 43 new Hub Lead Organisations share more than £76 million annually to coordinate music education in every local area through strategic partnerships. This programme is now in its second academic year.
In 2024/25, Hubs also received an additional £25 million to invest in new musical instruments, equipment and technology, including instruments for children and young people with special education needs or disabilities.
All of this investment, alongside funding from a variety of other sources (local authorities, schools, families, partners, charities and trusts), enables Hubs to deliver music lessons in schools (whole class, small group, individual, ensembles and projects and more). It also enables them to provide out-of-school music-making opportunities in a wide range of genres, in music centres, youth centres and other settings, as well as training and support for their staff, school teachers and staff of partner organisations.
