Remissions Policy

Remissions

Instrumental lessons – In School

Schools have their own charging policies but most will help to subsidise or provide free lessons for those pupils on FSM or/and Pupil Premium or where it is felt that instrumental lessons will particularly benefit a student.

Instrumental lessons – Parental Billed Schools

Schools that are involved in our Parental Billing pilot scheme have agreed to continue to fund students in the same manner as above.

Instrument Hire

All students receive a hire instrument for free for the first term of lessons, after that it is at a highly subsidised rate of £20 per term. In case of hardship or students on FSM this fee is waived and continues to be free.

Ensemble Fees

Ensemble fees are currently £35 per term (2022/23). This fee enables students to attend as many ensembles in the fortnight as they wish / are applicable to them. There is a sibling discount available for families. Students in receipt of FSM or in cases of hardship remissions are available. Please speak in confidence to Mr Walker. The Friends of East Riding Youth Ensembles also provide financial support for additional costs e.g. Senior Ensembles Tour
