Hexagon Lessons and Cancellation Policy
East Riding Music Service operates a Pay & Play system for instrumental lessons, ensembles and instrument hire (where applicable). Once your application has been received, an invoice will be issued via email. Lessons can begin once payment has been made, at which point the teacher will be informed.
All invoices are managed through EEPOS and can be viewed and paid via the Parent Portal (web browser only), which also provides access to lesson information, attendance and teacher communication.
Once you complete the form below you will be signed up and ready to start your instrumental lessons. You will also be given log in credentials to our Eepos system:
If your child is entitled to free school meals, due to receipt of one of the qualifying benefits, the cost of lessons may be covered by the school and the cost to hire an instrument is covered by the Music Service.
Cancellation Policy
If you wish to discontinue instrumental or vocal lessons, you must give notice in writing by emailing eastriding.music@eastriding.gov.uk. Please include the pupil’s full name, school and instrument.
- Notice received during the first half of a term: lessons will continue until the end of that term and will then stop. No cancellation charge will apply.
- Notice received during the second half of a term: lessons will continue until the end of that term and will then stop. A cancellation charge equal to 50% of the following term’s lesson fees will apply.
All fees for lessons provided during the pupil’s final term remain payable.
For example:
- Notice received on 15 September 2026 (within first half of term): lessons will end on 11th December 2026, with no cancellation charge.
- Notice received on 9 November 2026 (within second half of term): lessons will end on 11th December 2026 and 50% of the following term’s lesson fees will be charged.
The relevant first and second half-term dates will be based on the published East Riding school term dates.
Parent/carer agreement:
I have read and agree to the cancellation policy. I understand that notice must be provided in writing and that a 50% cancellation charge will apply if notice is received during the second half of a term.
