The repertoire played by the members of this ensemble is of a more challenging standard than that of the string training orchestra. With a greater emphasis on the technical and stylistic variety of musical genres, the ensemble aims to further develop ensemble skills and provide an increased challenge for the players.

The entry requirement is grade three or equivalent. There are a number of performance opportunities for members throughout the year. Check rehearsal times and dates below.
