Small Group and Individual Instrumental Lessons
Delivered by our trained workforce of specialist music teachers, all of whom undertake an enhanced DBS check and receive annual training in safeguarding and the latest pedagogical techniques and trends, these lessons allow schools to buy in professional teachers and performers to deliver high quality lessons to students at school.
Time can be bought in 10 minute increments with a 30 min weekly minimum.
The service guarantees a minimum of 30 weeks per year. Bills are generated on a termly basis in arrears in three equal instalments of ten weeks tuition per term. We expect the majority of schools to receive up to 34 teaching visits per year. If the service is unable to deliver 30 visits due to ill health of the Schools’ Music Service teacher or other reasons then a refund will be made to the school in respect of the visits that have not been delivered. Reductions in teaching time can be made during the academic year by giving one full term’s written notice. Increases in teaching time can be requested at any time and will be filled when the teacher has time available.
Costs for this service are £35.50 per hour (pro-rated per 10 mins) with the minimum buy in of 30 mins per teacher per week. These costs are charged in arrears per term.
Schools can opt to pass these charges on to families fully or support the lessons using school funds or pupil premium funding. Schools should undertake to have a policy to allow students receiving free school meals to access lessons for free.
Instruments for new pupils is provided free for the first term of learning, followed by a £25 termly fee. This is charged directly to families.
